note to self: wherever you go, there you are...and that includes the weather too!

yesterday there was sunshine- today there is snow

weather is inconsistently consistent no matter where i go

the average temp in erie is warmer than back home they say

which makes their snowmelts more like californ-i-a

here in the am, gone by noon

and yet “singin’ in the rain” should be their national tune

being aware that its bound to change

best to carry correct gear rather than rearrange

your plans - for if weather determined the day

it’s home you’d always be stayin’, i’m sorry to say

though cozy by the fire tis’ a comfort for sure

staying still is only a temporary cure

there’s a whole new world awaitin’ outside my door

calling for me to go and explore

so i’ll sip some warm tea and layer a bunch

not sure what to expect, but do know this much

temperature in spring is a fickle friend

whether ohio or ireland, the mysteries never end.

p.s. confession: i did chose to stay home today by the fireside - though i do have to stoke it consistently if i want to stay warm as its the heat source for this cottage. rough life i know, i know…but sitting here inspired this ditty of a poem so there’s that for stretching my literary muscles for the day eh?
